I'm looking to buy a camera that will take very good pictures. So I won't need or want to go to a studio for future pictures. Will this camera give me what I want? I want to take a picture of my husband and I that will look more professional than basic digital cameras. Help please?!

We'd really have to know which model you are looking at rather than the resolution. The sensors in Sony's point & shoot cameras are superb, that's why some other camera makers use them too, but at the bottom end of the ranges some of the lenses are not perfect and the feature sets can be lacking (at the bottom end you end up paying for the name!). At the upper end of their ranges, I've yet to see a pocket-able P&S that is in the same league as the WX1 (the only p&s - not really pocket-able - that beats it is the Canon G11).

As an afterthought, much of the "better results than basic digital cameras" comes down to the skill of the person using the camera. This is about knowing how to use the camera, what the camera is capable of, knowing what you want to capture, then bringing it all together in such a way that it doesn't look "forced".

It is as good as any other point and shoot camera.

You are delusional if you think you can do what a pro does, no matter what camera you use, but that's OK. You'll find that out soon enough.

Easy to use as is but I'm getting more out of it by using the manual that comes with on the provided disc. Great pictures too!
