...image clarity and fast response to take candid shots of kids. I have a Kodak Easy Share that is just too slow for me. My kids are small and constantly moving. They will pose for a few seconds but the camera isn't fast enough. I also notice it doesn't do well in low light.

So under $300, and addresses all my concerns above, which is the best digital camera for me? ( I have a manual canon rebel that I love and if I could afford it, I would get the digital SLR. :o( )

I just went to a more expensive panasonic but I completely loved my Canon Elph-it not only was small and easy but at 3x zoom, 6 MPS and with a small audio camcorder-it was great. I literally used it up! It ran me around 150.00 and was great!

I just got a new camera, so I've done a lot of research lately...Canon's are def the best! And since you have one now, I'd reccommend sticking with it. I have a SD750 and LOVE IT!!! It's great, easy to use, lots of fun settings and it's small!

Go to circuitcity.com and check out the cameras on there to see what would work best for you, but if you do Canon stick with the SD series b/c they have the rechargeable lithium ion batteries so you don't need to change AA all the time :-)

I have a Sony Cybershot and I love it. (I have 3 kids, ages 4 and under) Mine is a more expensive model, but I know people who have a less expensive Cybershot and they are just as happy with theirs as well.
