I just got a new digital camera for Christmas it is a Vivitar Camera X018 i was trying it out i plugged it into my computer using the USB cord. On the screen MSDC shows up what does that mean? i don't have a memory card for it yet could that be why?

The MSDC option in digital cameras stands for Mass Storage Device Class. It is one of the many subclasses of the USB computer peripheral connection protocol.
