I have a lousy NIkon L2. Don't get me wrong it isn't that bad but when compared with all the cam that are going out in the market today, it sucks.

I am looking for a dig. cam that has manual features, takes good night shots, and has image stabilization ( I hate it when it comes out all blurry.

A good mini-DV camcorder for night shots is the Samsung one. I haven't taken a lot of night shots with my Sony cybershot yet, but it does have a image stablizer.

I have got a canon ixus6 as well as a 2 year old sony dsp (the one with rounded edge), I must say sony is better when it comes to night and low light shots. I havenever used very high resolution as i will never print enlarged pictures and also upload it on the internet. The final choice is go with a non-complicated device that solves the purpose. My friend has an olympus mju , but I still would recommend sony. hope this helps.

Questionmark,

The best camera out there according to most pro's is the Hasselblad H3D that has a 39 Megapixel sensor and costs a cool $29,000 dollars.

In "35 mm" format the best camera available is the Canon 1Ds MkII that has a 16.7 Megapixel sensor and costs a mere $7,000 dollars. But don't despair, it's 22 Megapixel replacement is in the horizon and should be released this summer.

The fastest photographic camera is the Canon 1D MkIII that was released last week. It's only $4,000 dollars and can shoot 10 megapixel shots at a rate of 10 per second.

Since you're looking at something more affordable I would suggest that you take a serious look at these three cameras:

By the way, those links are to prices available only to "pro" photographers from a pretty serious and reputable store in NY.

Take care!

The Canon A710 is is a good camera, because it has a night scene mode, is 7.1 mega pixels, and has image stability.
