I have an olympus camera, and although I've deleted the pic (actually it was a video clip of new year in sydney - so pretty gutted). Is there anyway it can be retrieved???

As it uses flash memory, you cannot retrieve a file once you have deleted it.

Hi I have a Olympus model 400 and last year I managed to erase a whole bundle of stills that had not somehow transferred to the pc, after chucking the monitor across the room (I might need anger management treatment) my wife suggested I look on the net; lo and behold Microsoft does at programme that you download called "card recovery" it cost about £15 - £20 I think but worked a treat, everything back as good as new.

I don't think you can use it if you have since used the camera (or more precisely the card) and I really don't know if it will go as far as video clips, but it is worth a try. Good luck!!

Hi, A long time ago. some one i knew did the same and thought.. hmm its gone for ever, but then i found some software called Recover NT, and it did recover the contents of the memory stick. Even tho its Flash memory, i think the computer still deletes files in the same way as a hard drive, i.e. just marks the file as deleted. Providing u have not written anything else to the memory card you may be able to recover it. Do a search for "file recovery" software, u may be able to find a demo that will allow u to recover a small number of files.

So sorry! But once you delete from your card it is gone for ever sadly. Done the same thing myself, learning the hard way I'm afraid. The answer is to back everything up before you start pressing delete buttons.

I have retrieved photos and have a program for doing that but I have not tried it with videos but it might be possible if not at home at a photo shop. Stop using that card at once, until you have had a chance to try to get it back. Once you add photos "over" your deleted files, then you cannot get them back. Good luck!

There are IMAGE RECOVERY PROGRAMS available for sale on the internet, or you can find someone who provides an image recovery service, like at your local camera store. I know that we do it where I work: www.hoopercamera.com they provide the service for about $60
