Try Penn Camera. They have several locations in MD and DC, Lutherville, Pikesville, Laurel, Washington, and Tysons Corner.

As far as the Nikon D40 goes it has a 2.5 inch LCD screen (not Live View) you need to compose through the viewfinder.

I believe it can shoot up to 2.5 frames per second. Canon K2 1.5 Frames per second. Canon Rebel XTi 3 frames per second.

If you already have a Canon film camera I would stick with Canon because your lenses will work on the digital. There is no sense in switching brands if you have lenses. The lenses will last much longer than the camera body and are more important.

i don't know much about maryland, but if there is a locally owned camera store near where you live, i would recommend going there. they will answer all of your questions and usually help alot more than they would at a best buy.

The Nikon D40 does have rapid fire, but it is only 6 MP. The D40x is 8 MP. They are both great cameras. The d40 is a great starter camera too. I can't remember how many frames per a second it does...

Just remember to get a big memmory card that can write information faster than 75x then you can use the camera to it's fullest potential.

the screen is 2.5 inches.
