I was wanting to buy a Canon camera, and i have been searching fo a while. I was looking for good SLR camera for under $650, since this is my first camera. I have found these two and taken quite a liking to them.
Also, I'd like to have some form of videoing on it.
If none of these are suitible for starters, could you please suggest a good camera? Thanks.

The 650D is the better camera, but not by much, so it would depend on whether the price difference justifies the extra features:

Personally I would prefer the Nikon D5100 to either of them:

Of course the 650D is the newer offering from Canon, so it has improvements that the below comparison details. If you're going to do video, the video focus could be critical. The enhanced still focus ability could help get some quick pix in focus instead of blurry. These are two excellent entry level cameras, the only thing I can suggest is that you compare them to the Nikon equivalents, the D3200, D5100/D5200, and maybe the D7000 (a lot more expensive).

They are similar and both are pretty good cameras, the 650d has a touch screen and a new focusing system that allows you to use auto focus during video with certain lenses while the 600d does not.
