Sooo its my birthday this wednesday and my parents said i could get anything i wanted. So i lost my other camera so i thought i would get a new camera clothes etc. But what camera should i get? im really into taking alot of pictures and i love editing them on picnik and photoscape etc. umm i like taking pictures of moving things sometimes (sports) some times like just scenery and stuff i already have an SLR with the lens and everything i just really dislike it because its so big i lose cameras like a few months after i get them so something up to 500 would be ok after that its to expensive i do not like nikons or the olypmus under water ( already had one )

First off Happy Birthday!!! ok but Since you already have a SLR I'm sure you are use to having great picture quality. So i think the canon G9 or G10 is a good camera to get. Its basically a DSLR in a compact size and has great image quality( still not as good as a DSLR though.)Proffesional photographers use this camera s a back up to their DSLR. It is basically the best point nd shoot you can get but its a compact camera not an ultra compact. ( weighs more than a cybershot or coolpix but less than a big and bulky DSLR) Its kind of pricey though at around 400-450. Its 400 at amazon. If you want something cheaper and an ultra compact, I would go with any of the canon Powershots, they are all very good. The newest canon SD990 has a manual feature that will let you set the aperture and shutter speed.

You're joking, right?

You're a teenager. You already own an SLR camera, but you don't like it because it's "so big". I assume the SLR was also a gift from your parents? You admit that you can't take care of the cameras you have because you lose them.

Your parents are going to buy you anything you want for your birthday and you want them to buy you another $500 camera that you expect to lose in a few months?

This is called being spoiled. Horribly spoiled. You should take this time to reflect upon yourself and the fact that you will be one year older and should be one year more mature. Do you think you deserve for your parents to buy you a $500 camera when you have lost the ones you had and don't appreciate the SLR that you own? You have an opportunity to become one year more responsible on your birthday. Ask your parents to help you with that as their gift.

Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 -

It takes amazing pictures!

They have amazing quality too,

and its compact so size wont be a problem.

Also, i recommend any Canon Powershot.

Good Luck =]

Just keep looking around online at Sony.com or Canon.com or Bestbuy.com and see their products, i garantee you will find something you like(:
