I just bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 and dont really want to buy a memory stick. I have an older version of the Cybershot, a DSC-P8 and a memory stick for it and Im wondering if the memory stick from my older cybershot will fit in my new one. Anybody know?

The W55 uses Memory Stick Duo cards

and

the DSC-P8 uses Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO

Not sure if they are the same but it doesn't sound like they are considering I have a Memory Stick Pro Duo.

I also have a Cybershot W55 and it will take any Memory stick PRO or Memory stick PRO DUO card. I dont know what your old camera took, but most Sony Cybershots take the PRO or PRO DUO. If your old one is PRO or PRO DUO then it will work. If it's not the same, then chances are it wont work.

The best thing to do is call there is usually an 800 number and you can truly depend on those ansewers ~ But most of the time if the code on the one you have is the same as the code for the one that your paperwork recommends it can be used ~ the code will be the larger letters on your memory

card like XD-S
