Scan and save to desktop - open your PAINT programme and save the picture using SAVE AS then select Jpeg -

Make sure your frame accepts the format before doing this - some are different - some accpet all formats BMP, JPEG, GIF - etc etc - some don't.

Photo frames have LOW resolution of around 800*600 but many scanned pictures are 3000*2000.

Most scanners scan a RAW data file in generally TIFF format which is way too big for the frame.

Take your pictures and in an image editing program convert them to JPEG or jpg format and also you can touch them up to remove red-eye scratches and dust soecs as well as fading if you have a good program.

save these pictures as a full sized JPEG.. then reduce the size of the image to something the same as the picture frame so that the Max size of each image is around 800*600 or under 1MB per image then save these as a second set of images.

You can find image editing programs both paid, shareware and freeware on www.versiontracker.com and enter edit photo in the search box.

I use a MAc and find Graphic converter a shareware program is easy to use and cheap if you want to buy it.

Also ensure the card is formatted FAT (format it by the frame for best results then use your computer to add images), sometimes the frame needs to have pictures in a certain folder. as if they are not showing on the frame the card could have the wrong format.

The easiest way is to get a USB 2.0 memory card reader and just copy them from your PC onto the memory card. Another way depends on your camera. If you have the USB cable, you can plug your camera in and see if it will work as a card reader itself. Plug the camera in with the blank memory card inside, open your file management (typically it's "My Computer") and see if there's a drive letter for the camera. You should be able to copy and paste files right to the camera, which you can then use on your digital frame.
