Hello,

I am using Canon S5 IS camera since from last 2 months. Although I am getting good quality, sharp pictures I am not satisfied with the picture colors. They appear to be pale in colors. In manual mode, there is setting for brightness, color adjustment. Can anybody tell me what setting should I use to get more colorful pictures?

set the camera on vivid

the manual will tell you where

"press function button"

sometimes called "set"

Look for a Saturation adjustment and increase it. (May be called Vivid.)

There may be a Contrast setting. Boost it too.

BTW, download IrfanView or Picasa (free programs) and you can do this stuff on your computer.

could it possibly be the white balance adjustment? If not, i agree with photoace that everyone's interpretation of an image is very different.
