Hi,

I'm planning to buy a DSLR to learn the photography techniques.

I analysed most of the Nikon and Canon cameras. Finally i came to conclusion that Canon 600D suits me based on the following factors,

Able to hold properly
buttons placing
Features
picture quality
Lens are cheaper than Nikon

When i approach the Nikon photograpers they use to suggest to buy Canon cameras.

Based on all factors i decided to buy Canon 600D but when i approached the shop keeper they suggested to wait for Canon 1200D and its going to release on March20th

Please suggest whether waiting for Canon 1200D is good or Canon 600D is good to buy

Canon 600D has a Much higher resolution screen (1,040k dots vs 460k dots)

Canon 600D Shoots faster 3.7 fps vs 3 fps

Canon 600D Has a self cleaning sensor

Canon 600D has a Larger viewfinder 0.53x vs 0.50x

Therefore Canon 600D is the better camera between the two. It is one of the best camera for a beginner photographer. Go for the 600D without a doubt.

The 1200D is 99% like the 600D. It would be best to get the 600D as it's the best price/performance camera out, besides the Nikon D3200.

Canon 600D good to buy for begineer in photography.

Canon 600D special moments with high quality photos and movies.

1.Capture detail and ambience, even in dark conditions

2. Easy to use with Feature Guide and EOS Companion app

3.Scene Intelligent Auto picks camera settings, making great photography easy

4.Tell your story with Full HD movies and Video Snapshot mode

Hi Scott. The 600D is an excellent camera to be sure. The kit lens at 18-55 is a good lens also. I own a 50mm f/1.8 and it's an excellent lens for certain (not all) applications. Being a prime lens it means to make your subjects larger or smaller you move the camera - no zoom. But if you want to do low light photography this is the lens to have... that's what I use it for along with portrait work.
