I have a walgreens brand memory card that is having issues. I can see the thumbnail photos of my .NEF (Raw) images. However, when I try to open the files in Photoshop, I get this message: "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered."
Is there any way of recovering these corrupt files?
I have called walgreens corporate, talked to the manager of the store and several walgreens photo departments and no one has been able to help me.
Advice?

The camera file recovery programs may be able to help. The emphasis is on "may". Here are some links to some of the recovery programs. Good luck.

I think your experience has taught you to not get cheapo cards. Get a name brand like SanDisk.

Download recuva (free) from piriform.com. As an experiment I filled an old 512mb card 5 times with pics and formatted it after each time. Recuva recovered all the pics each time. I have 14 SD and SDHC cards in 5 different brand names(including one no name I bought at a gas station near Delphi, Greece. They are as much as 7 years old and all work just fine. Flash memory is flash memory as long as you don't get it from the online China criminals.

first, dont buy generic memory cards!!!

first thing i would try is to copy all the files to your computer then open them from your computer

if that does not work you can try recovery software but most likely you lost your files...

do NOT buy cheap memory cards!!!

even if you can recover the files, throw the card away

Have you tried opening the file in View NX or View NX2?

If you don't have a CD or it that should have come with your camera, you can get it downloaded from here:
