How much does the quality of the film get effected when transferring 16mm to DVD? I love how my film looks on 16mm.....but I'm afraid that digitalizing it will ruin it.

The word you're struggling with is "digitizing", not "digitalizing". It all depends upon the method used. If it is done frame by frame with a large optical sensor & a clean print, then the result can look as good as the original. If it is done merely with a 16 mm projector, screen & digital camcorder, the results will be disappointing. The frame by frame method is very tedious, time consuming & expensive.

As usual, fhotoace's answer is excellent advice.

nicely, Hitchcock is the grasp of suspense, so all of us of his classics is an excellent purchase. I basically purchase DVDs that are actually super video clips (different than the superb time I raid a good purchase bin), seeing which you may watch a DVD some cases to make it very well worth the funds. in any different case basically lease it. some stable purchases that have suspense: Vertigo Rear Window infants of adult adult males 6th experience The 0.33 guy And any Criterion series DVD is a robust purchase.

If you like your film's subject, have it scanned to DVD. Then you'll have a copy in case something happens to it.
