I've always had point and shoot cameras and never paid any more than £50 for one. I've asked my parents to get me the Nikon L120 camera for Christmas because I'd like a camera that takes better quality pictures than the digital camera that I currently have. However, some people are saying it's not that great, but I'm not looking for professional quality and I don't know if they are reviewing it on a professional level. I can't pay more than £200 for it, so it seemed like the best value for money?

The L120 is a great beginner camera. Remember, photography is more about the photographer than the camera he/she is using.

I recieved Nikon COOLPIX L120 camera just a couple of days ago. Wow what a fantastic surprise! My two previous digital cameras were a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 which I purchased in 2009 for a bicycle tour. While the camera had a lot of good things going for it a couple of problems stuck out which I could not tolerate. 1st and foremost it was very poor in bad lighting and the flash did not compinsate. 2nd..it really needed to be held steady any movement created a blurry picture. Declining light only made the issue worse. My other digital is a Nikon Coolpix 4300 which I bought 6 or 7 years ago to handle an online website. I love that camera, great pictures. good in bad light, not much zoom capability but could deal with that. The big problem...It was designed with an odd memory card which is hard to get and did not hold as much as comparable cameras today. I still use this camera for my website.

Nikon "L" sequence cameras are access-stage. In fact, it's only an access-stage compact digicam with a robust lens hooked up. Like all access-stage cameras, they don't have any of the adjustable publicity controls which can be imperative to develop to the following stage. You may not be in a position to study the fundamentals with the sort of digicam. A digicam such because the Nikon P7100 or P310 (or a P7000 or P300 if you'll discover one on reduction) can be plenty greater for studying the fundamentals as those cameras do have handbook publicity controls. And specifically the P7100, there are a number of complicated facets that mimic Nikon DSLRs.

You'll be better off with one of the Fujifilm Finepix bridge cameras.
