Great Picture Quality which u'll miss on sigma (u'll only realize the difference after maybe a few months of usage) and off course the "Image Stabilization" that canon offers... which enables u to click perfect pictures in low light as it minimize image blur occur due to hand shakes while clicking.
Sigma Lenses are great for their price.... u can use them at beginner level or for learning purpose... but there performance deteriorate with time and usage.... therefore its not a very wise choice in long run!
If u don't want to spend extra now.... go for sigma.... u'll not be disappointed... and can later take the canon ones!

I think the same is true of most lower priced 3rd party lenses. I, for instance, have a Tamron
18-200 and a Canon 28-200. There is no comparison in the quality. The Canon is far and away
better glass better function. The tamron has aberrations and focus issues. The Canon does not,
clear, crisp and sharp 95% of the time which is pretty good for any automatic lens.
On a scale of 1-to-10, 10 being the best, I'd rate the Tamron at a 5 maybe and the Canon at a 9.
That's the difference and I think you'll find out the same things with Sigma.
