Hey so I'm wanting to get a Canon EOS 600D, but they have the Canon EOS Rebel T3i/600D models on Amazon for so much cheaper, and just wondering what the difference is between them?? I live in Australia, so is it possible to buy from the US off Amazon? Or any advice or suggestions for buying this? Would it matter if it was the Us brand? thanks... answers really appreciated..

Canon Rebel T3i is the European version and 600D is the US version. Both are same, only it's discontinued by Canon. Anyways, you can buy any of those from Amazon and get it shipped to Australia although Amazon don't directly ship it. There are also bundled offers available and you can customize your kit too. If you need help with getting the Canon EOS 600D with bundled offers at reasonable price, mail me for more info.

The 600D is a T3i. They are the same camera.

Rebel T3i in USA

600D in the rest of the world except Japan

Kiss X5 in Japan

The problem with buying cheap ones on Amazon or ebay from abroad is that you will end up with a grey market camera which comes with no Canon warranty in your country. Also because you are importing from abroad, there will be sales tax (VAT, or GST) to pay on arrival which will wipe out any price benefit you thought you were going to get.

If you are going to buy a camera, make sure it is from a legitimate dealer based in your own country.

They are all basically the same. You will get the same picture no matter what dSLR you choose. The more expensive ones will make shooting easier for you if you know exactly how to use them. The cheapest ones are actually harder to use especially if you don't know photography yet. It is best to buy from a reputable camera store near your home so that you won't run into problems when the camera will need servicing. These are long lasting cameras and you will indeed need service later and hoping not soon.

I shoot a t3i, an excellent camera for both stills and video. Shipping may be a problem, it's the cost I'm thinking of. Don't you have a camera store where you live? That may be a better bet.

Canon gives different names to its entry level DSLRs in different regions.

In USA they are Rebel T...

In East Asia they are Kiss X...

In the rest of the world they are EOS....D

The 600D and the Rebel T3i are just the same camera with different badges.

The bargain price may become a non-bargain when you have to pay the shipping and the taxes.
