I just came across this lens in market which I am getting very cheap ie around 40$ fits on my Pentax k 30, has K mount. This is used old lens but in ok condition., I want to know if this is worth its price and how is the performance of it. Since I could not find much about this lens on web, I am requesting you for help! Please let me know as soon as possible.

Its an old generic lens $40 is a little high, used, they are worth about $25 to $30. But 135 f2.8 are the easiest lens to make from a manufacturing point of view and it would have to be a real dog to be bad. Go for it but $40 must be your max. BUT...

... For $40 to $50, maybe look at some of the Russian lenses. They are in M42 screw fit but there are cheap adapters for your camera.(M42 to PK) A Jupiter 11 lens or an 11A will give far superior results.

lens images here: Jupiter 11 (normally in black - buy M42 not any other type) http://gizmolic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Jupitor-11-Apetture-019.jpg

I have both and am extremely pleased.

Save your money !

I wouldn't bother with old lenses. I myself bought 3 old fully manual lenses and the only one that was good was the Pentax M f/1.7 (which I bought for $5 at a pawn shop), and has a ridiculously narrow depth of field - which makes it interesting to use. The other 2 were Makinon and a Focal made by Tokina.

After buying the other two Ienses for cheap, i latter found that one had scratches on the internal lenses after I dismantled it, and the other had a sticky aperture. This is difficult to see when you are looking them over, and you'll find out later that you bought a dud !

Also the old "multi coatings" are nowhere near as good as modern lens coatings.

You are far better off putting that $40 to getting something modern like the 35mm f/2.4 or the 50mm f/1.8.

What ever you do ..... just buy BRAND NEW ! Or don't pay more than $5 for an old lens, be shrewd because folks are out there selling faulty old lenses ! Plus the effort in dismantling them off sets the cheap price.

Buy brand new !

Don't know that specific lens. Rokinon generally have decent optical quality. They keep the price down by having no electronics whatever. As a result the lens is manual focus and has manual aperture setting.
