KODAK
$129.99
12MP DIGITAL CAMERA
3 x OPTICAL ZOOM, 5 x DIGITAL ZOOM
EXTRA LARGE 2.5" (6.4 cm) LCD DISPLAY
RECHARGEABLE LONG LIFE Li-ION BATTERY
SOFTWARE, WRIST STRAP, USB CABLE
REFURBISHED WITH 1-YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
etc.

At the store (called XS Cargo), all products are final sale. If there is a defect within an item, you can return it within 30 days and get another one, but no cashback or store credit.

What do you think? Is this a good deal?
Thanks for your opinion!

sometimes 'refurbished' means it was simply retuned to the store and then sent back to the manufacturer. sometimes somebody buys an item and it doesn't suit thier needs. the store can't resell it as new so they just send it back to the manufacturer. i have bought several items this way and have not had a problem. they also came with the manufactuers warranty. refurbished doesn't really mean it was broken and repaired. hope this helps.

If the store offers other non-refurbished cameras you can purchase if by chance you do need to return it I would say go for it. I still have a 42' Dell flat screen LcD monitor/hdtv that I bought refurbished for $700 and they still sell for $2k and I have never had a problem with it other than a few tiny scratches that would probably been put there by me by now anyways. Just be careful and read all the fine print.

No. Refurbished stuff is maybe fixed and maybe not. I've had bad luck with it. Sometimes with electronic stuff, it has a short that shows up intermittently so it's hard to prove that it was bad when you bought it and that you didn't do something to it. Some companies and stores are really picky about returns too. Sounds like this store is one of them.

Get a new one during a really good sale like an inventory reduction sale, store going out of business sale or something.

I've bought plenty of refurb equipment and never had an issue! Usually a nice savings. I bought a Sony Wega refurb for 800. which retailed for 1400. and I added a 5 yr warranty for $50. not a single issue. Whether new or refurb I would stay away from Kodak digitals! Go with a Canon!

Like Ace, I've owned a few refurbs, including P&S and one DSLR with no troubles. All were factory refrubs from Nikon. I've moved on from the P&S's, but the D50 and it's main lens (18-70) have served for over 2 years without any problems. When we got the camera, it was in all new packaging with the labels and everything. You couldn't tell it from new.

YES...BUT,...make sure you check the lens for "Dust Specks", as I bought a Canon "Powershot A-640" for 210$$ and didnt notice the "Internal" dust on the lens until weeks later. ...& it has since showed even more little specks. Dont want the expense right now to have Canon clean it..!! The "Reputable" store I purchased it from says they send all there "re~furbished" cameras to the manufacturer for a "Check-up" to make sure everything Functions well. But they missed the "Dust" issue..."Unfortunately" 4 Me.

No it is not. Consumer grade digital cameras are so delicate, who knows what quality it is in. I don't put any stock in rebuilds from web sites. If they had a store I could walk into, that is another story.
