Sony Cybershot Problems.?

Question

PLEASE help me. I've been on the sony e-support and I can't find the answer to my question. I have a sony cybershot dsc-s700, and when i plug the usb cord into the camera and the computer, it won't load my pictures. I downloaded the cyber shot program, I downloaded a new usb driver for the camera, I put the setting on the camera for the image transfer to PTP, followed all the steps, and I STILL can't get the camera to load my pictures.

In fact, I can't even get the screen that said "load images to computer" or something like that. Only ONCE have I been able to upload pictures onto my computer, and that was a YEAR ago. I don't know what happened, but for some reason, I can't get my camera to even show me that screen where it gives me the option to upload when I turn it on.

When I turn it on, it just goes straight to the mode where it's ready to take a picture.

First, I believe you should set the USB to "normal" not "PTP" and it might show up as a removable drive as any USB flash drive does. I think the PTP setting is used only with the Sony software package. At least that is the way my Cybershot DSC-P7 operates. But still, that is a hassle and a half and I have to locate the cable which fits when I finally need to empty the memory. I prefer to simply remove the memory card and use the reader built-in to my laptop to copy the files and clear the memory for more pictures since there is no cable to lose or misplace and have to look for. I suggest a multi-card reader which can read the memory cards as the simplest solution over the Sony software.

When you plug it in try going to my computer then wait til the folder for the camer pops up. Should like F drive or something.

If that doesn't work...try using the memory card instead of the usb cable.
