I'm looking for a low-light lens F/2.8 or better that I can use on my DSLR (Pentax K110D), and still maintain the autofocus feature. I've been searching forums and lots of write-ups, but cannot get a definitive answer!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can also use older Pentax compatible AF lenses by 3rd party manufacturer such as Sigma, Vivitar, etc.

You can't get a definitive answer if you don't know what to use the lens for. Speed is one thing for lenses but the main criteria is focal length.

So, are you going to shoot portraits? Consider the bread and butter 50mm f/1.4 lens that every photographer should have in his bag. Then, the 55mm f/1.4 SDM has a pretty fast focusing speed but at double the price. If you want a little wider, get the 423mm f/1.9 which almost looks like a pancake lens.

Want to go a little farther? Try the 77mm f/1.8.

Normal? 31mm f/1.8.

Generally, all zoom lenses and long telephotos have smaller maximum apertures. Such is a fact dictated by the laws of physics.

If prime lens prices are too much for your migrane, forget the AF and go full manual. That is where Pentax shines best.

I have a Pentax 50mm F/1.4 and a 40mm F/2.8. Both are great lenses. I have the older 50mm though and the auto focus is a tag slower compared to the basic kit lens.
