I just searched on "Canon wide angle lens converter" and got lots of hits.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=canon%20wide%20angle%20lens%20converter&sprefix=canon+wide+angle+lens+con%2Caps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Acanon%20wide%20angle%20lens%20converter

You should be able to tell by the price that they are poor optically. You should treat them as the toys that they are. Just have some fun with them.

Should you get serious, you would need a real wide angle lens.

One way to get wide angle is to do panorama. Shoot overlapping pix, side by side, and stitch them together.

When you put one of those converters on your lens, you do realize you must manually focus the lens. Otherwise you risk burning out the focus motor as those motors were never designed to move a heavy lens adapter.

Some lenses - those that are internally focusing - do not have this issue. But I don't believe your kit lens is an internally focusing lens.

Besides, they really don't work that well.

So you've bought a great camera with a high quality lens and want to bolt on a cheap wide-angle adapter which will give distortion and rubbish quality? Really?

I have a couple of converters I use on my LensBabys. Why only on the LensBabys, because these are already a LoFi lens! On any other lens these converters have no redeeming values!

Just get a cheap magnifying glass and duct tape it to the lens. Same result.

Don't bother. They are awful.
