I would like to know if I can run Magic Lantern for the Canon 60D v1.1.1 since the Canon 70D and 60D are virtually identical. The 70D also runs firmware version 1.1.1 as well. Also, could I run the Beta (nightly) build on my 70D so I can shoot RAW video?

Why do you believe that the Canon 60D and 70 are virtually identical? The 70D was released years after the 60D, they are not even close to identical.

Bottom line here, any magic lantern software made for the 60D will not work on the 70D since the image sensor is different, along with just about everything else on the inside. You also run the risk of bricking any dSLR with magic lantern since it's not official Canon software or firmware.

You void your warranty if you install magic lantern on any Canon dSLR.

Even if you did get this to work, do you have a computer powerful enough to edit RAW video? Do you even have the software for it?

The 70D has a vastly different sensor - Canon calls it a dual-pixel sensor. The firmware is going to be quite different between the two camera models. If you are going to do such a thing, you better at least have the correct version.

Just because you can run Magic Lantern from a SD Card does not mean it cannot damage the camera's firmware. There is really no reason to run Magic Lantern on a camera - just because it might be possible.

If you spend your time learning how to take photographs rather than tinkering with the equipment - your photos will be better than any kludge camera modifications will ever make them.

Run it and you'll first void any warranty you have left. Second you do run the risk of the camera not operating at all... that does happen and there's a warning on their web site about such things. Take the risk?

That's up to you.
