Problem with Nikon D60?

hi...I have Nikon D60 with 18-55 and 55-200, both VR....I just wanna know, what is the problem, that sometimes camera doesn't react, when I am trying repeatly take a picture. Especially with children, I have short moment and then I missed it...so- could it be problems with settings or?...I looked it up, and it seems like setting is like before...so i don;t know, but it is frustrating sometimes...:-( thanks

Theres a lot of settings to work with and you dont give any details.



Are you using flash? If you have flash set to use red eye reduction it will cause a shutter lag and you wont capture those quick moments. Try using a different flash mode or no flash if you have enough light.

See if you've set the autofocus toAF-S. When you've done that, the camera won't take a shot unless the focus is of a still subject and absolutely perfect. That's the best for portraits and such, but I find with sports, children, or any other dynamic subjects that the AF-C setting works best.

possibly the shot distiance is not regnoiseable
