First of all, I know that a digital Kodak isn't exactly the most pricey camera in the world but the camera is still important enough for me to worry (plus my parents bought it for me).
Okay...so when the camera was first bought my mother also bought the insurance for the camera which lasts about 2-3 years since I tend to break/drop things. Now I know that this insurance covers water damage and other kinds of self brought damage, but I don't know if it covers the camera being lost since I have no evidence of it actually being lost.

*Long story short, does Camera insurance cover a lost camera?*

What you're describing sounds like your mom bought an ADH (Accidental Damage from Handling) WARRANTY and not insurance. ADH warranties are for damage and do not cover losing it.

Your mom MIGHT be able to file it with her home owners insurance, but the deductible is probably more than it would cost to buy a new camera.

i understand i'm contributing late - yet right here is the deal - generally, this manner of merchandise is roofed under your assets vendors (or renters) insurance - assuming its no longer for employer applications, it would be lined under the area of the coverage "very own assets lined everywhere in the international". generally that clause has something like a $2500 optimal shrink. the subsequent difficulty to evaluate is the cost of the digital camera to boot with the aid of fact the age and situation of the digital camera. ultimately, you will possibly desire to understand what the deductible is on your coverage. on occasion digital products have a distinctive deductible than the main superb coverage. generally, except you have a top type coverage, your digital camera would be worth what they call truthfully funds cost - this implies they'll deduct for the age and situation of the digital camera- w/o understanding the define of the digital camera - anticipate this to be some 40% deduction of off the replace value. So, right here is how the calculation will paintings: replace cost of digital camera - depreciation deduction - deductible = What you will acquire. So generally, except you have a severe cost digital camera and/or a top type coverage, this is not any longer incredibly going to be worth submitting a declare.

Are you sure that's insurance not warranty. Warranty does not cover lost items. Insurance, maybe. It depends but I highly doubt any company would agree insure a cheap camera like that.

Maybe, it depends on your contract with the insurance company. Only that company can tell you. Being in another country may affect it.

Some do, some don't. You need to remember who sold the insurance or you need to check the policy.
