Is there a particular brand of SD memory card that is reliable for a digital camera? Need one that will allow me to take pictures fast and not have to wait before taking another. Thanks.

Stick with SanDisk, Lexar, or Kingston.

Standard SD cards write at around 4-5MB/s. Unless you have a Nikon dSLR, your card isn't slowing down the photos. It is your camera/camera settings. SanDisk sells Ultra II SD cards which write at 9-10MB/s and are excellent when shooting multi-bursts on a Nikon dSLR.

Brands aren't that important, but I would stick with name brands. Lexar, Memorex, SanDisk - these are the most popular. There are likely more popular brands.

Sandisk is one of the best. They make MP3 players as well and are just as good as any ipod. I have never had a problem with any of my Sandisk cards and they are usually on sale at best buy or circuit city for around $50 for a 1gb card.
