Think of the pictures as digital and not the camera. The digital picture or film is making the picture into a file that you can move around. You have more possibilities with this because you can transfer to computer, to a thumb drive, email, connect to some cell phones etc. With the regular, you've got the print and the negative. Less possibilities.

The size of a 135 (aka 35mm) film frame is 24x36mm. The 35mm refers to the edge to edge distance including the sprocket area.
