It says the on movie mode the sony dsc-hx1 has color choices color mode does that mean that it shoots in black and white and sepia? I also was told it zooms all the way in and out in movie mode, is this true? Just a double check and finally this camera vs the canon sx1 or sx20 which one out of the 3? I like all of the options with the sony, do either of these have those

I don't believe you can choose a "color" mode when shooting video. The HX1 though will zoom while shooting video, however the focusing is not so fast as that of a proper camcorder.

Regards the comparison with the Canon SX1 or SX20: The Sony has more "soft" (programmed) features than the Canon's, but there if you read the reviews is no getting away from the fact that Canon's have marginally better optics!

Both have color mode for taking picture but I don't think this features is available for video.
