Perhaps if you're into landscape photography. It does offer gorgeous image quality and stunning resolution for enlargements.

Is it in good working order? (They stopped making that model in 1970.)

Does it come with the film back, viewfinder, and lens(es) you want?

Are you prepared to lug around a tripod to take advantage of the extra resolution?

Are you prepared to spend cash every time you push the shutter release?

And are you willing to give up 5 frames per second, the convenience of zoom lenses, long tele lenses, quick autofocus, and all the other goodies that a D200 system offers? I use a D200 myself and I'm perfectly happy with it for anything up to full-page prints. (I did invest in good lenses.)

Here are some things to look (out) for when buying a Hasselblad: http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/hassybuy.html

And you can check keh.com for the going price for bodies/ lenses.

Hi Steve

Honestly, how technology is today, i would most likely keep the D200. I second His answer. When you go get back into Film photography, you're taking a step back. You have to pay to take pictures, you have to buy film, and have it processed. Nowadays in my opinion, that's not very practical. Also, like he said, you're giving up continuous shooting, the ability of seeing your photographs immediately, and instantly pulling them up in Photoshop. In my opinion, Film is more trouble that it's worth.

I use a Canon 30d, i have a Film SLR before, but i don't use it anymore because it's getting too expensive to use. Here in the Bahamas, film development, and film is 22$, and that's a lot when you're a photographer who liked taking pictures. I couldn't limit myself to only 24 or 36 frames. I much prefer the ease of Digital these days.

Hasselblad is a good brand. However, that camera came out over thirty years ago, and that's pretty old, older than i am for sure. Although the quality of film is better, i'd stick to the D200- you'll get similar quality, you can't say the D200 takes bad pictures. Stick to the D200 now, and get the H3D in ten years.
