Probably not. I am guessing that the filter for most Nikkors are 52 mm and the filter for that Canon is 58 mm. Although the hood doesn't fit on the filter per se, I suppose it could not fit because the sizes are not exactly the same.

I have seen some 3rd market hoods for all sort of lenses. You need not have "Nikon" on the hood to work on your lens as long as it's the same shape. So if you want to save money, try eBay or something.

Both lenses take 52mm filter threads, so as long as the Canon lens hood is the screw-on kind, it will also fit the Nikon 50mm AF f/1.8 lens, young Jedi.

If the Canon is a bayonet mount only, then the answer is no.

In looking at Canon lens hoods for 50mm, they are 2-piece, one piece which screws into the threads and then a hood that bayonets onto the screwed part on the threads. So it should be OK.
Yikes.
