How do I take macro pics with Pentax Optio 8.1 digital?

Cannot find book. Can do all except this.I may have sequence wrong or???? Can get icon, flash etc, not response

You can download the manual from the Pentax website. I started at http://pentax.com, and got as far as this:

This is the list of Pentax Optio models to download the manual. There are a lot of them! I didn't see an 8.1 or I would have downloaded it and looked up 'macro'.



My own camera is a Canon. It does beautiful macro (and 'extreme macro') shots, but there are certain restrictions on zoom, mode, etc., and I am always forgetting them because I don't do macro often enough.



So download your manual, keep it on your computer and you can refer to it.



Digital cameras today have so many features that you really need a manual to get the best use out of them!

The E50? That's the only Pentax 8.1 MP camera listed at Dpreview. It does support a Macro setting, click on the flower icon on the four way controller to activate it. You can then take close-up photos at 15 cm or more. Closer than 15 cm your camera won't focus on the subject.

There is probably a little setting showing a flower, click that, and you'll be able to take macro.
