I know theres the canon ones, but I don't know that much about the cameras but I do want to start learning more about it. So I guess I just want to see what you guys recommend for newbies.

Professional cameras cost more than $4,000, not including lenses and other accessories.

What you're interested in is called an entry-level DSLR. The Nikon D3200 and Rebel T4i are two great entry-level models.

Buying a nice camera won't magically enable you to take nice pictures...

I don't know that much about cameras!, but I want a professional camera! boy oh boy we hear that a lot on this forum! You should buy a good quality "bridge" camera which can cost anywhere from $160 to a little over $400.00.. When checking cameras, you should handle them and purchase the one which is the most comfortable and easy to see through. After about a year or two of taking pictures with a good bridge camera and making many 11x14 size or larger prints, you will have the experience to pick out your own "quality" DSLR camera, be it Canon, Nikon, or Pentax!

To dive into a DSLR camera from the beginning is foolish. Also if you are serious, you should take several night school courses. Besides learning more, you will be able to met people with like interests and gain more knowledge in making your decision as to which "system" you want! Because a DSLR camera is actually a system camera. It has it's own group of lenses. And the choice is not the same with Canon, Nikon or Pentax.

Good Luck!

There is no dSLR made for newbies. All dSLR's are basically the same and the more expensive the model you buy, the greater satisfaction you'll get. If you can afford to learn from a $43,000 Hasselblad H4D-60 then so be it but you can learn exactly the same concepts of photography using a $600 Pentax K-r. The cheapest brand new start at $500 from the popular brands.

Be careful using the term "Professional", as it specifies the higher-end DSLR cameras that cost $4000 and up. That is why you are getting the comments that you are.

If you are looking for a DSLR, then look no further than the excellent entry-level Nikon D3200. It is actually a very high performance camera, and at least for now - beats anything by Canon; so says DxOMark Labs.

Try a Nikon D3100 / D3200, or a Canon Rebel T3.

Newbies have no business buying professional cameras. Professional cameras cost between $ 4,000 and $ 43,000.

If you want to start learning why don`t you start reading before asking this stu.pid question??? You can not afford a "professional" camera.
