THis is because Sony's NightShot feature uses Infrared light to operate. Many clothes are opaque to visible light but translucent to infrared. As a result, when using NightShot during the day, when there is light from across the spectrum, including IR, you can sort of see through clothing. Newer Sony cameras automatically disable this feature when operated in normal light.
