I got a 2 GB card right now and I don't like it because it only gives me 8 minutes of video time. After a couple pictures. I want something that will hold a good amount of videos and pictures.

I bought it to film POV's on water slides and such,

Its a Nikon CoolPix Water Proof Camera that can go under 10 without messing up (or so it says)

I think its 10. something megapixels

Its probably not the best camera for professional videos but, I think it was worth me buying what I plan on using it for.

so how many more Gigabites on a card can my camera work with?

If your camera is compatible with SDXC cards, then you can opt for a 32GB Class 10 memory card. While they are not cheap, they will certainly allow you to film to your hearts content.

A 'Class' specification denotes the write speed of the card. For HD video, a minimum of Class 6 is required, with Class 10 being highly recommended.

Class 10 cards are available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB configurations.

look in your camera manual.

there might be a time limit on your videos regardless of memory card size.

Don't get your bits and bytes confused. memory cards are only sold in bytes like 2 or 8 gigabytes.

Bits are 1/8th the amount, and are only used to describe things like Internet connection speeds or say the data rate of a blu ray disc. there are 8 bits in a byte.

Anyway, find out the time limit of your camera because you could end up buying a larger card for nothing, so don't throw your money away without checking first.

If you're going to use it primarily to film video then you'll want minimum 32Gb.
