i am photographing people on a fast zipline, usually in very sunny weather, with some shadows due to trees and leaves, on the sports setting, and the pictures are coming out very very blurry or the people's faces look white from the bright sunlight and you can't even see their features. i really need help! what settings( iso, aperture, shutter speed) should the camera be on? thanks

If the sports setting isn't getting it, then you need to go to shutter priority (Tv). If your pix are on a computer, right click on them and select properties and find the shutter speed the camera chose in sports mode. On the camera, in Tv mode, select a faster shutter speed with the Main Dial and try the pic. If it is still blurry, keep bumping up the shutter speed until you get what you want.

Manual mode. The lens completely depends on how close or far you are from the subjects, but in general the 70-200 2.8 is an excellent sports action lens. What do you mean "what setting" in manual mode? You set the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture manually for a proper exposure for each shot. No one here knows exactly how much light will be available when you take your shots in the future, so how are we supposed to tell you what settings to use in manual mode? I'm beginning to think you're another one of those people who upgraded from a point and shoot to a DSLR because you expected to get better photos without even taking the time to learn how to use a DSLR properly...

Obviously you need some training on this camera and we can't do it here.

Set your shutter to 1/1000 and try shooting again. Read the book on how to do that and for heaven's sake if you've been using live view get off of it and use the view finder or you'll never learn anything about this camera.
