So i put the SD card in my laptop. Then alot of the pictures from last night upload but most of them arre just icons. And when i click on them it says "Can't load PlugIn: 'FORMATS.DLL" !

usaully cameras come with a cord that connects the camera to the computer without having to take out any sd cards. I use my cord to upload photos.

Odd. What software are you using to try this? Your camera should appear as a device that you can open - try just opening it (like a folder) and using standard copy & paste to copy pictures. If you have an SD card in the camera you could try loading it into a different device (card reader? MP3 player? Digital photo album?) & copy files that way (if the 1st suggestion doesn't work). I used to use the Canon software to upload photos onto my Canon but I have used numerous other methods all of which worked well for what I wanted.

Probably the best suggestion is a card reader. Windows sees it as a drive. Then you simply copy/paste your files into the folder of your choice.
