Cant read .nef (RAW) files in PhotoShop CS6?

Situation: I have a nikon D600 that when shooting RAW generates .nef files
Problem: I have a PS CS6 on my Mac that can't read this files.
Solution: ???

I tried downloading the codec here, but it's only available for windows.

Adobe Camera Raw (part of Photoshop) is what 'decodes' raw files in Photoshop. It should be part of your CS6 (ie when you bought Photoshop it is part of the bundle).



That other Nikon codec is just for viewing raw files in WIndows Photo Viewer & is nothing whatsoever to do with Photoshop.

Upgrade the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plugin to version 7.3 or later.

You may need to either install the provided View NX software to convert the files to .jpg, or you may want to buy the Capture NX2 software to edit the files.
